Based in Apple Valley, Closets for Life has been serving the Minneapolis & st. Paul area for over fifteen years. Owned and founded by Rick Lyrek, the company works with residential clients as well as designers, builders, and architects to create innovative solutions throughout the home including closets, home offices, garages, kitchens, mudrooms, murphy beds, wine cellars, and laundry rooms.
FAMILIAR FACES
Owner Rick Lyrek is the one you’ll talk to when you call Closets For Life. In fact, he and installer, Corbin, are the main points of contact for the entire process. No handoffs or unknown people entering your home for installation. The service they provide their customers has been a point of purpose for Rick, something reflected in eight straight years of Angie’s List Super Service awards and their relationship as a trusted partner to many area builders and remodelers. ALWAYS UP FOR A CHALLENGE
When asked about his favorite part of the process, Rick answers that the initial design is the part he enjoys the most. He talked about one of his favorite projects as an example.
“We love getting to know our clients and finding the perfect solution individualized to their needs and wants, but I love a challenge most of all. In fact, one of our favorite projects involved custom closets for new home that was styled like a barn with a silo addition. While we completed several custom organization projects within this stunningly unique home, including a master bedroom closet, a mudroom closet, a home office, and a guest room closet, the part that posed the most significant design challenge was the two young girls’ bedroom closets. The girls’ rooms were located in the silo portion of the home, which featured curved walls all around, including curved walls along the back wall of the closets. We custom designed a closet system to accommodate the curved walls while providing ample storage space. It was literally an ‘out of the box’ project and one that we are very proud of.”
As the manufacturing partner for this project, we can tell you that it was indeed quite unique and we also embraced the opportunity to work ‘outside of the box.’ It’s not every day you manufacture a closet for a silo! You can find photos and learn more about the story behind the project here.
